Lost Property

Lost property

All student property should be clearly named. Lost property is stored at Student Reception.

Named items will be returned to the rightful owner. Non-named items will be stored for a period of time after which they will be disposed of or washed and sold second hand or used as loan items.

Unfortunately as the majority of items are not labelled, a large amount of lost property does not get returned.

Responsibly disposing of lost property, that has not been reclaimed, takes considerable time and effort. As a sustainably conscious school we do not want to throw your valuable items into landfill but most items cannot be donated to charity as they need cleaning or will not be accepted.

To help us return as much lost property as possible please can you ensure that all your child’s possessions are labelled with their full name.

The school has no insurance for items lost by students. The school can only be considered liable for any loss should an employee have specifically accepted responsibility for the safe-keeping of the lost or stolen item.

Valuable items or significant sums of money should not normally be brought to school. Should this be necessary they should be given to a teacher or to Reception for safe keeping.
